Warm Greetings to you.

VICT is a public Charitable Trust, registered in Kerala in December 2000, formed by a Group of philanthropic Non-Resident Indians from all over the world. The sole purpose of this Trust is to promote education among the public in general and under privileged classes in particular. At present it comprises more than 1000 like minded members, who believe that they should contribute to a tangible and noble cause in their motherland, India, without expecting anything in return, simply for the joy of giving.

I.T. Division

The vision of ‘Vidya’ is to make available ‘State-of-the-art’ higher education to our financially weaker sections, thereby enabling them to develop a good personality and acquire excellent knowledge so that they can play an effective role in the society and, in the process, elevate their status in the society. To achieve this vision ‘Vidya’ has established world-class I.T. Training Centre in Thrissur in 2001, offering short-term and long-term training courses in various computer applications – software and hardware. Currently VICT is in the process of expansion by opening new training centres at Thrissur Round and Kunnamkulam.

Engineering Colleges

To provide higher education, VICT established it’s first engineering college in Kaiparambu, Thrissur by the name Vidya Academy of Science & Technology (VAST). After obtaining, AICTE approval and affiliation from the Calicut University, VAST started its first academic year in 2003. The college with most modern infrastructure and facilities, situated on 30 acres of land owned by VICT, offers engineering courses in six branches and MCA Course. The academic year 2006-2007 marked another milestone in the history of VAST as it had the opportunity of sending its first batch of engineers to the society.

VAST is dedicated to future-oriented change. The challenging world is based on science and technology, Engineering education is the basis on which science and technology is allowed to develop and prosper. Towards this objective, we strive to position the college as an innovative learning centre and sustain the level of excellence and accomplishment to bring its graduates into national prominence. With the facilities created at VAST, and with the power and support of a team of education professionals, scholars and staff dedicated to excellence, we are determined to be a world-wide leader in engineering education, whose graduates are sought by global employers. Through our partnerships with industry, government, alumni and friends, we mould engineers with technology and innovation.

Apart from laying emphasis on academics, VAST also provides various recreational, cultural and extra-curricular programmes for encouraging students’ active participation to ensure overall developments of the students with the most modern infrastructure for sporting and gaming activities. Training and coaching is provided in major games like Football, Cricket, Basketball, Shuttle Badminton, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Handball etc.

VAST has a dedicated Placement Cell working at the College Campus and our students rank highest in numbers in the campus recruitment conducted by Multi National Companies in the Thrissur region. VAST offers free education to bright but financially weaker students to complete their studies in the Engineering College and in the I.T. Training Institute. For engineering course, in the first academic year 2003-2004 we were able to give scholarship to 12 students only, which steadily increased in the subsequent years and reached to 75 in the year 2010 and we endeavour to continue this trend in the years to come.  In VAST, bright and performing students are given endowments for their achievements in University examinations. 81 such endowments are distributed every year sponsored by Trustees, P.T.A and other well wishers.

Vidya District Centres

VAST also extends financial assistance to the students studying in the 11th and 12th standard for undergoing entrance coaching for 100 students with Prof. P.C.Thomas in Thrissur with availability of same facility  in Alappuzha, Kollam and Thiruvanandapuram  with M/s. TANDEM

In a dynamic and rapidly changing world, we are committed to providing leadership and support for students and help them in their professional development to face the challenges for brilliant future.
